Value & Provenance

What makes an item desirable?

Sports memorabilia doesn't need to be expensive.

Small items bought online - often involving local or childhood teams or past events - can capture a moment and invoke huge nostalgia.

If you are considering starting your own collection, here are some tips to consider:

The Athlete (or Team) - Was the item worn or owned by a well-known or celebrated athlete?

The Event - Does the item relate to a specific event, time period or notable success?

Condition - Is the item in good condition?

Provenance - Is the item authentic and do you know how it was procured?

Scarcity - Is the item unique and would it be difficult to replace?

Nostalgia - Does the item invoke great memories of a notable time or era?

Do you love it? - If so, enjoy! That's what collecting is all about!
